AUTOMATION INDUSTRY ASSOSCIATION
(AIA)
ABSTRACT
Automation Industry Association is India’s apex automation industry body, with nearly 40 high tech automation companies. The technologies AIA represent encompass electrical automation, mechanical automation, continuous and batch process automation, robotics, machine vision, assembly and material handling systems, sensors, controllers, actuators, communication devices, HMI, real-time software, simulation, training, and a host of interface and supporting sub-systems.
ABOUT AIA INDIA
India is gaining recognition as one of the fastest growing economies in the world and industry will play a vital role in achieving our macro ambitions of 7-8% GDP growth. Indian Industry is presently in growth mode as existing capacities get augmented & modernized and new capacities come onstream.
At the same time, global aspirations are bringing focus to critical aspects such as productivity, efficiency, quality etc. and automation technologies have a key role to play here.
It is encouraging to see a positive trend, whereby Indian industry is becoming increasingly mindful of this, though we still have a long way to go in order to attain world standards. In this journey, the Automation solution providers look forward to partnering industry in an era of collaborative commerce as we work together in helping India realize its true potential.
AIA is committed to be a vibrant forum for all automation companies in India spreading knowledge and creating awareness levels that make a vital difference to the global competitiveness of Indian industry
AIA has pioneered the vendor-neutral approach in spreading knowledge and creating awareness on Global standards and practices. The Automation Centres of Excellence established at IIT Madras and Apollo Knowledge Institute, Vadodara were incubated with the support of AIA.
Skills in Automation
The ultimate objective of training PEOPLE in advanced technologies is to make them competent in solving operational issues and contribute to the superior performance and real- time management of plant, machinery and associated resources.
Industry Connect
‘Digital India’ aims to leverage cyberspace and mobile connectivity with Information Technologies
‘Make in India’ aims to leverage shop floor brilliance and machine connectivity with Operations Technologies Industrial Automation is the glue that binds IT and OT together using real-time sensing and controls.
AUTOMATION INDIA will facilitate individuals wanting to pursue automation challenges, ideas and solutions.
'Basic Automation Course' has been conducted in VESIT-AIA Competency Development
Center as a part of CAMPUS CONNECT INITIATIVE.
This add on course gives more weightage to hands on training on the various kits specially made for this purpose as,
1. Sensors (P&F):
A variety of sensors, encoders and counters are available on this kit for practical understanding and experimentation.
2. Pneumatics (Festo):
It incorporates actuators like single acting and double acting cylinder, control valves like quick exhaust, 5/2 way pneumatic actuated valves, time delay, shuttle and dual pressure.
3. Controls and Visualization (Siemens):
This kit combines controller hardware with a Human Machine Interface panel. Here, physical signals can be connected via relays or directly on I/O cards.
4. Motion Control (B & R Automation):
This kit is designed keeping in view a holistic approach to Generic Motion Control. It is self-contained with several advanced components like master controller with HMI, servo drive, stepper drive.
5. Integrated Stand-I and II:
These stands are to impart an effective hands-on experience in the design and execution of comprehensive automation solutions. It includes input devices, control devices, actuator and visualization devices on a single platform.
